Found another Maverick for sale, or should I say it found me!
I stopped at a yard sale to look around because I had saw car parts and speaker cabinets along with an SKS sitting there, I had no longer got a good look at some things when a man pulls up, gets out and says "who owns the Maverick?" I replied I do, he said well my son has one he might would sell, I said, what is it? he said it's a 1969 1/2 it has the ignition switch in the package tray, I then ask for some specs and he said it had been to several body shops in the past and had been sanded down each time but not primed so it's a little rusty on the surface, he said it has a 200 I6 with a built C-4, also has a tri-carb setup on it and engine has been built slightly with a cam and other stuff, rear has been reworked, I gave him my number for his son to call me, fast forward 2 hours.....his son calls, I ask a little more about the car, he has raced it in the past and it ran the 1/4 in the low 10's, as is now it is all there but no interior and as stated alot of surface rust except for the fiberglass Grabber hood, I ask why no interior and he stated it is all brand newly redone, original bucket seats, headliner and all, redone by the same guy that did my headliner and door panels, I asked about the interior and he said he could make me a deal on it, he has over $500.00 in the interior but would take less, now I don't need this car BUT I would like to have it, this one and the white 69 1/2 I already am looking at would be a lot of great parts, we shall see how it goes in the next week or so.

I doubt any inline 6 200 motor is running 10's in the 1/4. However with all the comments people make about Mavericks it doesn't surprise me.:D

Probably 10's in a 1/8th. Lots more 1/8 mile stripes around the south than 1/4's......

At any rate I will check it out, the tri-carb setup has my interest most of all.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
    A 10 second 1/8mile for a 6cyl is still un-normally fast.

Ohh I did forget to mention, he said he would take $500.00 for the car without the interior, and as stated earlier I might can get the newly redone interior for around $400.00.

Not really high 10's usually translates to low 15's.
    200 6cyl 15.24 @ 86+ mph is best to date. 1.995 60ft. Stock 1V carb.

Pics are here, I went up to take a look at the 1970, to me Parts are there that would be great to have and I know alot of people need some of them I saw there, I thought I would show ya some pics and let you see what I saw....is this a 200 I6? or 250? also those are holley carbs on there, I like the glass Grabber hood, could make it work on my Grabber I suppose, one thing I didn't see was bumpers.

I believe all of the small ford 6's had the integrated intake, or as it is called, the intake log as part of the head casting. The 200 and 250 are the same except for the stroke. The 200 can turn haigher rpm because of the shorter stroke but the 250 has more torque. Hp ratings are within a couple of hp.:tiphat:
