I'm looking to drop my stock air assembly for something a little more functional and fancier. I was thinking an open air system that can sit right on the carburetor. I'm still running my stock 2 bbl carb on a 302.

All the assemblies i've found don't look like they have the charcoal canister port. Do i have to drill? any links to some simple plug'n'plays/bolt ons?
    and
Any advice on breathers? i'm still learning, but from what i gather I can put a small filter on the passenger side valve cover which will suck in clean air and push it out the driver side valve cover, back into the carb to get burned up? looks like I can eliminate an unneeded hose to my air assembly with this?

Finding these boards to be an insane resource, thanks everyone!

not sure what air filter assemblies your looking at. the common 14" round open element style usually has some sort of fitting on the bottom to attach either the valve cover breather hose or the charcoal canister to.
now you can eliminate both of those hoses.
the idea of both hoses is that the vapors are ran through the motor and burnt up vs just vented to the atmosphere.

their are also the air filter assemblies that use cone filters attached to tubing going to a carb hat. those can be made to work the same way
