hello all. im from toronto area. after a few problems at the DMV i just obtained ownership and plates for my 73 maverick yesterday. it has 29,000 orig miles on its 250 engine. i need to change the AM radio though. drove me crazy on the way to work this morning. i bought it beacuse i love the simplicity of older cars made of real steel. when i saw it i couldnt pass it up. cheers all.
thanks. there is vitually no rust on it. a small bubble driver's side ahead of the door and a scratch to the left of the rear plate. i paid $3900 for what i feel is an extremely solid car.
nice looking maverick... personally i like 50s and 60s music better than any other music because they talk about hotrods and muscle cars! when i'm driving the Mav i listen to Kixi 880 which plays all the cool old music... oh yeah and johnny cash is awesome too
a great cash song..... "one piece at a time"....( i know he's singing about a caddy, but cmon....stealing a car through parts over many years is awesome)
need to get some nice pictures......the one i posted is from the ad the last owner made. i sure dont live in a subdivision and own a big ass cube van
one piece at a time is so cool. couldn't believe it the first time i heard it with his big old lunchbox and his buddy's mobile home the good ole' days... wish i could have been around back then.
DanT Welcome to the board. The Maverick looks nice and a 4-door, very cool! Since you live North of Toronto you may be interested in knowing that there is a Maverick/ Comet mini meet in Etobicoke Ontario on Sunday Sept 14th 2008. The mini meet is at a Ford dealership called Summit Ford which is located on Highway 27, one km South of 407. This is our 3rd Maverick/ Comet mini meet and all you have to do is show up and register at the car show. The show starts at 10am and runs till 4pm so come on out and meet some fellow Maverick/ Comet fans and see a bunch of other classic cars too.
Some of the things that are on the other post are the flyer, the NMCC 2008 dash plaque, best of class plaque for 2005, last years dash plaque, and 2005, 2006, 2007 dash plaques. The show is a great time.
