I looked through pages of posts but could not find the answer. Can I run a single speed taurus fan as a pusher? I ran reverse polarity and it seems to spin fine. is this ok? can i reverse the fan blade? is this necessary? any ideas?
While it will no doubt run "backwards", many motors are designed with a thrust bearing for one way operation only(shaft pulls toward front of motor in one direction and is pushed to rear in opposite direction)... I'd suspect that's the case with a OEM motor... AFAIK there is no pusher fan that's anywhere nearly as efficient as a puller, I'd never consider one unless it was to supplement the puller...
Why use it as a pusher? If you have a Taurus fan mounted in the normal location it'll cool just about anything you throw at it.
If you use a taurus fan as a pusher...Its shroud will cover the radiator and not allow any airflow over the rad, other than trough the fan opening...The car will overheat at highway speeds, and will probably run hot in traffic as well. Get a puller set up that fits...
