any good tricks

    dose any body have any good tricks for changing the plugs on a maverick with a 351w in it i dont have a hole lot of room between the motor and the shock towers. I havent tryed to do it yet and wondered if anybody got the same problem and have any tricks for doing it or any ideas :huh:

    pull it and use platinum plugs from now on.

    Agreed. this is why alot of us cut the towers before installing 351's

    If you don't cut the towers you might unbolt the engine mounts and lift the engine a few inches. I ran mine for 4 years with the same plugs. :)

    I don't have any problems changing mine! Just remove the valve cover(2 or 3 min) and use a plug socket and wrench...its as easy as that! Tons of room...takes me less than 30min to change them all.

    Not sure about the 351, but on my 302 I use a plug socket and a ratcheting box end wrench that fits the top of the socket. Much easier than fooling with a ratchet and socket, especially around the shock towers.....

    Pulling the valve covers is the easiest way to get at the plugs with a 351W in the engine compartment. You can buy the special universal joint plug socket but you will probably end up pulling the valve covers anyway.
