I have done some reaserching the last couple days on an AOD trans swap into my '73. Looks like it requires heating and bending out the pass. side header. I plan on using stainless headers (if I can find them) and I don't see this working. Is it possible or has anyone notched the trans pan to make room. I don't have a spool gun for my mig yet but I know how to gas weld and I figured brazzing my work. Any help is appreciated.

not sure if this is what you wont to do but im runnining an aod in my 72 comet what i did was took a portapower between the headers an pull them apart then took a piece on flat bar about 14 inches long drilled 2 holes in each end and conected it to colector bolts on each side. now the headers are straight.

stainless headers want heat and bend

not all 6901 headers need bending on the same side. mine was the pass. side someone said their driver side needed bent.
...so i guess you need to mount them and see. :yup:

...Frank...( need an AOD cross member?)

Sorry I meant to say coated headers. But now that I think about it, I guess I could bend them and then send them out to get coated. Thanks for the help guys. I guess I needed to brain storm some more.
