Got the engine wired up, and stabbed in the distributor, but it wouldn't run. Pulled the dizzy and stuck it back in 180 degrees around, and now it runs briefly, then it pops and the carb catches on fire. Retarded the timing as far as i could and it ran better, so I pulled the dizzy and stabbed it back in one tooth over on the cam. Now it runs!!!!

Power steering feels great!!! Can't wait to drive it!!!

I still need to clean up the wiring and loom it all back up, then ready for a test drive.

Vid below. Not a hat-cam. Hat-cam battery is dead.

Awesome! How does the header paint actually hold up though? Going to be on the road by the end of the next weekend!?!

New headers, after about 20 seconds of running, the paint started to smoke off. A LOT of smoke. Had to get out of the garage and kill the engine, turn on a fan to blow it all out. Came back a little later and burned a little more off, but now the headers are still black, just not as shiny.

They will become mostly rusty in a few weeks.

Today i will buy the split looms in various sizes, and since it looks like we may have a couple of "snow days" start putting all the wires away. Then hook up the nitrous bottle, and get the exhaust connected to the headers. Then on the road!!!

    Yes, very excited:bananaman

It really hurt to have it sitting idle for so long, and it seemed like I just couldn't find the time to work on it. Several times, I feared I might be losing interest and would end up selling it in pieces if I didn't get back to work on it.
