yesterday I sawed off my stock muffler on my mav. I did this because I will get a flowmaster installed. uhhh anyway, the car is really loud, and thats a good thing :yup: anyhow, now, when I turn on the car there is a loud pop that sounds like a gunshot. Backfire. I asked a friend if its bad and he told me that his car backfires too and that it was not a bad thing. But then again, he only knows about import cars, so i dont know if what he says is true. Anyhow, is this backfire a bad thing? does it damage the engine? Does that sound come out now because i cut off the muffler? thanks:huh:

Timeing chain may be a little worn. I wouldn't worry about it to much unless it still does it after you get the muffler put back on.
