Bell-housing

    1) do i need a v8 bell housing if my engine is a v8 302 and the tranmission is form a i6?

    2) How do i know if my Throttle Cable is connected to the motor and where can i get one if not?

    3) Where do i get motor bolts for motor mounts for a V8 302 engine? Where can i get them? Would Auto Zone have them??

    Sorry for all the questions guys iam new to restoring cars:yup:

    1. If the transmission is from a 250 cu 6 cyl, it will bolt right up. Any other 6 and you will need a different bell housing.

    2. Look on the side of the carb and you will see a cable connected to it. Have someone push on the gas and look down the carb and you will see the throttle plates moving. Do this while the engine is off, of course. IF you dont have a throttle cable, best bet is to get one from another car. Either 6 or 8 cylinder ones will fit.

    3. Any hardware store like Home Depot carries long bolts.

    size of bolts

    What would the size of the motor bolts be:confused: ? Thanks
