what brands has anyone tried that they really are happy with as far as fit and function. My 2 year old California car Cover one didn't do too well on either count? Any recommendations?

Cover craft seems to work well and last a good while.

Mine was 330 retail. Not happy with fit. Returning it. Carcoversdirect.com has a custom fit cover for Mavs. Price depends on which material you choose.

    I will second that:thumbs2:

Remember sometimes a car cover traps moisture under the cover, so keep a close eye on the covered car!

The new materials wick away moisture really fast. I'm totally impressed with the material just not the fit. If the car gets wet it dries in minutes under the cover. Dont get me started on the garage thing. Thats another story.

Yeah... what he said (3 messages up)...

California's pretty dry compared to B.C..... esp. NOWADAYS.

I have a fabric "breather" car cover (just a dust cover) with packing blankets on top and then a vinyl cover over that - creates an air gap because vapour condenses underneath. Main thing was a plastic ground cover or heavy duty tarp UNDERNEATH to block moisture from the ground and/or grass underneath; and the vinyl hits the ground to 'reduce' moisture from travelling by wind and collecting underneath.

Still... after 2 months of snow and ice... my clean polished mags are rusty and pitted - ruined effectively. Cats, raccoons and damn skunks peed on the wheels again... the stains are all in one spot.

Car canopy's cost as much as a good cover and if wind, rain, snow and neighbours kids aren't a problem - just buy a good, supported 5-legs per side canopy and seal it to the ground.

Garage is best - I gotta get a permit to build one before the next winter.
