hey everybody, i went to goodguys car show and i was looking at a nice blown maverick grabber, and ive loved these cars since i started driving "grabbers" especially anyway as i was lookin at the car, two guys walked up and started laughing and i heard one of them say "who would spend money on a maverick" that made me mad im glad that this forum exists some people just dont understand the die hard maverick fans out there, there just missin out
when someone says that, I look at 'em and say, "same question I ask myself when I see a Vega, Honda, Nissan, Dart, Valiant, or Chevy II"
I would just feel sorry for someone like that who is too shallow, too dumb, and/or too much of a follower to appreciate something UNIQUE and GREAT like a blown Maverick Grabber.
Who would spend money on a Maverick? There's a simple answer for that question. Someone who is an original thinker and does'nt follow the same old tired crowd. That's why we love our Mavericks ( Comets too). We ARE Mavericks.
These types are usually poor lost "wannabe's" who are spewing wishful thoughts out of their poor wretched bodies. Just like your morning trip to the throne room, flush them out of sight and you always feel much better in the end.
Anybody can restore most any chevy, mustang, firebird, or gto. The toughest decision is deciding wich catalog to order your parts from. Personelly, I like going to the local chevelle, corvette, mustang and 32 gathering on saturday nights ans being the only Maverick. Its the "Mavericks" of this country that made it what it is today.
most of these people when asked... "what they are driving"... will tell you what they are "going" to get, not what they are driving. they are most likely driving there "moms'" car. my son gets some of this at school .his '73 grabber is his daily driver. most of the ones talking this junk don't even have a license to drive....frank...
Yea,most of those morons think that their favorite car (whatever that may be)is the only thing worth fixing on,or they just go with the crowd. That is what makes our cars,or anything out of the norm appreciated by folks that actually think for themselves or have an IQ thats higher than room temp.
i agree, i love being the only maverick at car shows...that just shows whos really the smart car guys
yep, sounds like the youngsters trying to school me on engine choice for my drag car when they're driving a Dodge min-van! grin and bear it. life's too short to worry about those without regards for others rides. Like the scarecrow said "some poeple without brains do awful lot of talking!"
Do not let them get to you.......its the typical attitude towards those of us who think "outside" the box..... when I get them like that, I usually reply with..... "race me and I will show you why I spend money on this ole heap. ...too take money from guys like you"
