Can you recommend the best book for someone who just wants to understand how the ford 250 I6 works and keeping it running smoothly. I saw someone recommended the book "How to rebuild a Ford Small Block Engine" by Tom Monroe. I am not really interested in getting a lot of horsepower just understanding how things work. I have a very basic understanding but I get on here and read threads where I get lost before the end of the first sentence. I wonder if they have "The Ford 250 I6 for Idiots"? Something along that line may work! Oh, and please don't tell me to Google for books on the Ford 250. Do you have ANY idea how many hits that can bring up!
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Ford-Falcon-Cylinder-Performance-Handbook/dp/B000B7I496"]Amazon.com: The Ford Falcon Six Cylinder Performance Handbook: Books[/ame] :Handshake That's the only book on the 6 that i know of. also spend hours on here. http://www.fordsix.com/forum/
I have a book that tells you how everything works on a motor, pm me if interested. It breaks down everything from sparkplugs to coils.
That Ford Small Block book will give you the basic idea of how to on engines, just get a Chilton or Ford manual to give you spec's on the six.
