Bought a 1971 Maverick and glad to be back in the Maverick/Comment community. Sold my Comet GT when I was doing alot of work at the lake a few years ago then realized I missed my Comet so started looking and found a 67 Fairlane GT, just never had the enthusiasm or love for it as I did the Comet even thought I knew it was a better choice investment wise. Well finally realized I wanted the enjoyment of a car more than the investment so sold it and found another Maverick. After being on some Fairlane sites there are none I found as FRIENDLY, as knowledgeable, had as many tech articles nor as many members as this site. Have made alot of friends on here through the years the main one being Earl Branham and really miss him while he is away helping with his family.

I've owned a number of Ford muscle cars over the years, but none are as much fun as the Maverick. You will draw attention wherever you go. The young people really dig them because they never knew they were a low cost economy car in their day.

wow that car looks incredible! is that a sign of a leaky cowl on the drivers floor mat? I see some orange on the carpet. is that rust or just dirt?

Looks great and you're right, I havent been into restoring cars very long but I HAVE been around the internet for a long time, I've never met a nicer bunch of people online in my life. Might be that were just down to earth or maybe that we just got lucky and mavericks attract nice guys, who knows  Either way, nice to meet you :D

Dirt...picked the car up today and we have had an inch or so of rain the last 24 hours and it was dry on both sides.

Thanks everyone for the comments...got the car home yesterday and in the garage, going to get the 200 6 running so someone can drive and see before selling it and the tranny. (Was driven up till first of last year, tried to start last night and not getting fire) Ill mess with this while I get some parts together, think I have found an engine, so will be hunting a T5 5 speed, 5 lug rearend and parts to make it posi and disk brake, disk brake setup for the front, grabber hood, (possibly)grabber spoiler for the trunk and extensions.
