Bought my second Mav, but need your help

    Hey guys I just picked up DalMav's 77 today. :yahoo:Super nice car
    and nice guy. Thanks Rob.
    My question for all you Mav Guru's is this.
    He put a stove bolt 2 barrel on the 250. It runs great
    but I have zero clearance for an air cleaner. Has anybody
    run this setup???I really need air cleaner idea's.

    As far as I know, you have to get a hood scoop and cut a hole in your hood to clear the air cleaner. I'm pretty sure the Comet GT style hood scoop will clear it.

    Thanks Gary I may take you up on that, at least temporarily.
    I like the way the proggressive 2 barrel runs but I hate running
    without an air cleaner. PM me I don't have your number.

    Would an air cleaner off of a Pinto work? I don't have one....but I seem to recall they are a very low profile.

    I was thinking the same thing Craig. The Pinto Air Cleaner is very low profile compared to our stock stuff. I would love to put the same set up on the Sprint but I really don't want to cut the hood for it. Please let us know what you end up doing! Nice Car by the way!!!

    Well, now that I think about it - the conversion I have has a custom adapter. The guy I bought it from was a machinist and made it himself - it's lower profile than the adapters available. That's how he fit the air cleaner under the hood.

    There are a couple of repops, I believe the scoop is the same as the Mercury Cougar Eliminator scoop, someone can correct me on that.
