It all comes down to what you want to do with your car........are you going to road race it or just drive around town? Also, depends on what else you have done to your suspension, if your car is basically stock and you are
just going to box in the lower control arms, I doubt if you would notice any difference and would be a waste of time.

I'm with dyent here. If you're really discerning.. you may notice a slightly more solid feel during heavy jounce/rebound/high transition steering. But.. unless you have all your other ducks in a row.. probably not worth doing. Also keep in mind that you're adding sprung weight into the mix with diminishing returns.

You do know there are kits out there to also add roller bearings and support gusseting to these common Ford style arms?

With all this damned CNC stuff China is turning out these days.. why won't someone make an AL suspension for our Fords? With todays fuel prices.. aluminum is getting cheaper and cheaper.

We ran GM Metric cars back in the nineties on a circle track and always boxed in the 4 rear control arms which were similar to the Maverick front lower ones - I would weld in 1/8 inch steel plate and then put about 4 equally spaced holes in them with a hole saw to lighten them up some - who really knew if the driver felt any difference? - we just knew it made them stronger :tiphat:
