Hello guys! This is my first contact here and hope you can help me out on a car project. Well a friend of mine have a 76' Ford Maverick brazilian made. We have decided to rebuild all the front suspension, the car is dangerous to drive. I have some experience on Mopar suspension, I reduilded some cars here in Brasi, but don´t know nothing about ford suspension. I want to use american parts on this car and my problem now is to check witch part os american mavercik fits on brazilian mavericks. How I figure it out? Thank for your help and glad to make part of this cmmunity! Let´s keep talking. André Monc
By the way, the Maverick was produced from 73 to 79. The Fase I from 73 to 76 and Fase II fom 76 to 79. I don´t know if the suspension are the same.
I haven't tackled my front suspension yet but my understanding is to quickly replace the drum brakes to disc and that will make for a much safer ride. Aquele é tudo que eu posso lhe dizer para agora.
Thanks Zorares for your comment! the already have front disc brakes. In fact I removed all front end last week. All bushing are deformed and dry. Ball joint are very bad condition. Shocks, tie end rod, pitman and idler, igual, no condition to use again. So I want to import all those parts, just have to know if they will fit on the car.
Brazilian Mavericks appear to be a little different than the ones we have here, so I'd be careful thinking that the same parts would work on both. If we knew they were exact, anything 68-70 Mustang would work...
Thanks Dave. I look some photos of american maverick´s suspension, and visualy are al the same. Only the schockers are very difrent. I think that use the same control arms, center link, tie end rod, bushing, sway bar, coil, and ball joints. At least, look the same. All mavericks in USA have the same suspension? Are part intechangeble between years? Thanks
