I am restoring my 73 maverick and took windshield out to replace cause had a big crack in it. So I found a windshield in great shape at a junk yard near me from a comet should be identical right?

Yes but be very careful with the windsheild getting out breaks them most of the time you can call a local glass shop and they will install and everything for around $200

yup, any mav or comet windshield is the same... both on 2dr and 4dr's. easiest way to remove them yourself is to take the trim off, take ur pocket knife and cut right thru the center of the weatherstripping all the way around and remove the excess. have a friend help u lean it forward and there you go. hope this helps :)

Comet windshields are better because you don't get the guilt that comes from dismantling a Maverick. After all, that's what comets were made for. the only reason they didn't call em Ford Maverick Parts is because the hood and tail panel were different.

i PREFER a mav but id rather have a mav or comet than a chebby! even when its snowing ;P

what state you keeping that mav in right now? the local glass shops are trying to rip you off! dont forget when installing it to put the sealer putty in, i actually had a glass guy who "does old mustangs all the time" not put that in. i knew it right away in a small thunder shower.

Yea. They made an over abundance of GOOD parts and decided to put them together and call it a Comet. They are outlasting the Mavs so I guess you gotta get what you can and keep patching them Mavs. ;)

I thought they made billions of Mavericks so the thousands of Comets would have plenty of parts. :evilsmile

I would add that the comet windshield is heavier than the mavericks, that deluxe auto the comet is.
