any of you have more detail about this ford canada project in spring of 1970,,, i scan this article from ford of canada racing news mid march 1970,,,any of you have this car ????
Oh man...Ammunition for those who swear their mav has a boss in it...LOL...That would be one hell of a car to have right now...
Had an FMX given to me so I tore it apart. Pretty tough trans but the corrosion between the iron and aluminum was really bad. Wonder what the reasoning was for that tank of a trans???
dunno? but i do know it was super heavy, had to modify headers to fit.. quite exstinsively too. my b&m shifter wouldnt work without mod, and crossmember???? o hell to the no. it was an a-hole. BUT 100% WORTH IT
That would really burn the arses of some of the high and mighty Mustang owners to see that shaker scoop setup on a Maverick. As hard as those originals are to find and to see one put on a pheasant car like a Maverick. LOL One of these days if I hit the lotto. I might have to go on a hunt and find me one of them original shaker setups and a nice maverick to put it on... LOL Sure would have been an awesome car to have been built. I bet that would have put our mere mortal Mavericks in a different class of car.
my father gave me a book a couple year (before i bought my comet so at least 4 years ago ) who talk about history of ford or something like that and i remember saw a maverick with a boss and he look like this car i will try to find the book tonight.
Not too hard to track down a shaker. You get can a pretty good quality fiberglass repo for about $500.00. I wouldn't be offended by seeing one on a Maverick either, then again I'm not a high and mighty Mustang owner but know a few that probably would act that way. Maybe I'll put one on the 70 Grabber to match my 70 Mustang Grabber with the shaker. That would be cool to show up to a car show with. - Matt
