This guy was at the car show today ... He had a display full of incredible custom car caricatures ... I have him working on one of my Grabber .... http://signandart.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=DSA&Category_Code=CW
Said I should have it in a week ... I'll post the picture when it's done ... He does two styles .... sitting still or torqued up and ready to launch .... I had him do mine torqued up and ready to launch .... Here is a bigger list of his prints if you didn't find them earlier and you can see the two different styles .. http://signandart.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PLST&Store_Code=DSA
Rick ... he does custom caricatures of YOUR car ... He does list some prints on his website but when he makes one of your car it is a one off deal and it's the original artwork ... not a print. You would have to send him pictures of your car to get the Sprint done .... BTW ... his show price that I am paying was $80 instead of the $100 listed on his website ..
I wasn't paying attention to the link....the Wife now has my Christmas gift idea...It'll look great hangin in the office.
This is the one that is on my web site and also I have it on the front of a couple of shirts. The original drawing was not mine,it`s Robert Martins ...but I modified it so that it became more like my car (Grabber grill, T-ram instead of huge blower ,Green paint ect.)
Here's how it came out. I guess I should have it sitting still instead of in launch mode so he could have put Maverick and Grabber on the fender. Still looks good though .. He did a good job with the lines of the car and although it is contorted it is obviously a Maverick. The second picture is one I am playing with after scanning it in to my PC. So far I just added the hood stripe ... not sure why he left it off ...
I'd have him redo it. The headlights are supposed to sit right down on the bumper, so to speak. He's got way too much grill there. PLus you could have him put the stripe on at the same time.
I agree ... I sent him this email ... we'll see what he offers: Barry ... Got the caricature today and it is nice but I don't like the way the front end came out ... Check out these pictures ... http://homepage.mac.com/dmhines/PhotoAlbum69.html See how you drew the Mustang and the front end is in proportion? On my Maverick you extended the grill down below the headlights ... That is not the way the car looks. Also the rear market light is missing in your drawing. Also - I would like to have the hood stripe in the drawing as well since this is unique to a Grabber and is like drawing a Chevelle SS without it's hood stripe. I know in my original email I had asked to make sure you highlight the hood scoops and striping. Your work is top notch but it's the little details that really matter to a cars owner and I want to really be able to show off and brag about the painting that you've done. Thanks ... Dan
