if you search around a bit.. you'll see tons of others using similar since not everyone can afford the real thing. It comes in about any color you can think of these days too.

As for the durability? Not too bad so long as you get the better quality 3M based stuff(I'd be wary of the lower priced stuff on ebay though).. and avoid abrasion(door panels can take a beating if you have kids/lots of passengers). It can/will scratch/haze up quite easily(after all.. it is soft vinyl, right?) if you drive in dusty/sandy backroads and need to wash it more often. You should also try to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and extreme elements(such as storing the car outside without a cover/shade through all the various seasons).. although the better quality stuff will have more UV protectants and lives for several years on many commercial applications.

Other than that.. the design flexibility is hard to beat. I thought about using it several times now too. Even potentially using the real stuff(carbon/kevlar blend) in red weave for a hood, spoiler, and deck lid.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
I've used it on lots of stuff.... cellphones, lens hoods, etc..

It's nice and durable, to make it pliable heat it with a hair dryer/heat gun.

I even wrapped a lighter once with some leftover I had Lol
