    Hello,

Replacing/upgrading all my a/c components on my 71 comet and noticed that the previous owner had busted the leads on the thermostatic switch so I need a new one. Is the thermostatic switch on these evaporator housings somewhat universal, or do I have to hunt?

If it's proprietary, does anyone have one of these things out of an a/c mav or comet that's sitting around? I need it pretty quickly as I want to get this box back in there so I don't have to bypass the heater core.

    Thanks folks

man..that really sucks. I just bought a universal ford one that has the adjustable knob on it for the same price. Ouch.

I had a hard time finding it on ebay because it's called 3 or 4 different things. Anti-freeze switch, thermostatic switch, evaporator thermostat, a/c switch, yada yada.

I wish I found that auction before I bought another. Thanks anyway.
