1974 Four Door Maverick with a 250 straight six(Now in that big junk yard in the sky), Currently a 1976 Mav with a I6 250 soon to have a 2bbl carb and dual exhaust, ooo yeah
Well, when I bought Lucy, (the name of my Mav) I didnt know the instrument panel lights didnt work b/c, you know, I bought her during the day, and nobody told me such. I found it out when I got off work, turned on the headlights and the lights didn't turn on no matter how hard I smacked the dash. I was using my cell phone that night to be able to see where I was going and then I smelled buring wires, and then saw a flash behind the speedometer and smelt something buring... when I got back home I pulled it apart to see what was wrong and I couldn't see a short, and I've pulled it apart since then to look, and I just don't see anything...

SO the next day I went out and bought a book light so I could see the numbers at night and it is really, really annoying.

Ok so now to the question part, has anyone had this problem? and what size fuse does it take? and if you have had this problem, how did you fix it??

    thanxz guys:tiphat:

My advice is to get it fixed before you burn the car to the ground, ie not drive it at all. There are fusable links, relays etc to check plus the wiring itself. I'm gathering you really don't know what to look for. Not a slam. Electrical problems are daunting to even some of the more experienced.
    Good luck!!!!
