I have a 1973 Mav with a 302,and a 3 speed manual.I was wondering if it is possible to convert the existing z-bar into cable linkage?Thereason is,because it is in the way of everything and not very smooth.
    Thanks

The problem is the existings set up pushes the clutch fork towards the back of the back of the car. A cable set up can only pull. Therefore you would have to snake the cable out the firewall and come down past the clutch fork, do a u turn and come up behind the fork to pull it. Even if you caould fabricate all the brackets, I doubt you will find a cable long enough to do this. Check out the T5 threat in the technical forum. Hydraulic is the way to go.
