Hey Rick, are you using an electric fan, how about a radiator shroud, I am not running big horsepower but mine stays cool even at the strip. I am using a 3 core Aluminum Champion Cooling Radiator as do quite a few people on here but most people dont have issues on the freeway.

If it won't cool at highway speed, you have an airflow problem. The air isn't going thru the radiator. Either you have bent fins or a plugged radiator.

Also make sure your lower rad hose isn't collapsing, I had that problem right after I got the car driveable... When at idle looking for a issue it was fine, at higher rpm's the lower hose would collapse...

Check your timing as well. I had a timing issue that would cause the car to get hot at highway speeds.

A lean A/F ratio at cruse will also cause a rise in temp in a marginal system... One of my freinds had had that issue with a 350 in a '65 Chevy II, once he re-jetted the carb and got it in the mid 14:1 range it's been fine(was in high 15s)...
