Hey guys. I recieved an email this morning from Crites. They said if I can come up with a several guys to get some small block headers they may do a small run of them. Apparently they found a small quantity of pipe for sale. Lets get together and get this done. Put me down for a set of 351w headers to start the list. Pretty good timing since I just picked up my 408 yesterday from the speed shop.:thumbs2:

Here is the original email they sent me.

We have found a place to get some small block header tubing. If you can get together a few order we may consider bring the pipe in if we can not get any order we will not bring it in and will not make them till spring if the demand picks back up. If the demand isn't up we will choose not to make them any longer thanks Jessica please let us know.

A month or two ago, when we were talking about a GP to get it done, I had the dough.

Okay. I need names to send to Crites. Then they will need to be prepaid. Jessica says about 4 days to get pipe in, and about 3 weeks to finish the order and ship the parts.(y) Once I get everyones names it will be up to you to prepay for them. She quoted me $349 plus shipping.

Are these ceramic coated? I have ground clearance issues with my headman headers. Will these be any better. I hate going over bumps.

Chris....I am not sure. I have not used them myself however they are the only ones that will let me wedge my 408 into my comet. I've heard that the fit is superior to anything else out there and they work on the 302 or 351 from what I hear.

    They are 1.75" tubes...
The only other headers to give you 1.75" tubes for your 351w are the Hooker Mustang swap headers, and they are not a direct fit.

    No, they are not coated.
If you want them coated, you should pay for them, and have them drop shipped at Jet Hot in Arizona. Then, after you pay Jet Hot, they ship you coated headers.

Jet Hot is the way to go anyway.
Header companies only coat the outside of the headers, and for the same money. Jet Hot does inside and out.

    Edit:
I forgot about them going on 302 based engines too.
That is awesome. Other than this one, there is no Maverick 302 header with primary larger than 1.625".
Again, you can use the Mustang 351w swap headers and adapt them to make big tubes for your 302. However it is even more work than getting them on a 351w in a Maverick.
