Have heard guys running 351w heads on 302 Good solution or just go aluminum. What is the theory on matching cam, heads, intake??? I tend to do things backwards (theory is buy the right part (supercharger) then you have to spend the money to put the rest of it together) Have paxton sn 89 and hedman longtube headers think 1 7/8 to 3' collector and 302 with strong bottom. Need to build top end and fuel delivery. Stuck on blow throgh will probably go csu from the info I have heard from you guys here. Want to push 600hp second sunday car. Wnat to know what a good combo is with chamber size, runners, cam lift , duration, single plane or dual. Will be blown @ 6-7psi for now.
Go aluminum, Anderson motor sports, Bennett racing. can recommend a good blower cam. The AFR 185'S are a tuff head to beat out of the box. Don't forget to address timing control. This in my opinion is one of the most overlooked issues on a blown motor.
Yep, find some way to use a control box to pull timing vs boost or run fixed retard by careful testing or head gaskets blow, pistons break etc, at those boost levels. 600 hp is pretty healthy power. Needs forged internals and all the help a block can get.
Have been looking into a top end kit from summit edl-2091 cam, heads, intake and all gaskets can get itup here in canada for $1842.07 What do you guys think???
i'm running the 351w heads on the engine i've got in right now. as soon as i get my other engine back together i'll be using the edelbrock performers. good heads but there are better out there. by the time you put all the time, effort, and money into the 351w heads you could have a set of off the shelf aluminum heads that will work better and be lighter.
