While installing my dashpad I found that the plastic housing for the instrument cluster in my 77 Maverick is dried out and brittle. It fell aprt while I was trying to remove it. I have one from a 69 1/2 but it is different, the plug won't fit plus some other minor differences. Does anyone know what year would be the same as the 77? I know where several parts cars are but no 77's. Thanks,
    Fred

Yep, I have a guage cluster from a '71 and a '73 and neither will plug into my '74. My '74 cluster will plug into my '76 though.

The plug is to tall on the older clusters.

    Thanks everyone.
That answers my question. The early plug is larger. Looks like they are the same until 73. The two 74-75 Comets I found are only 20 minutes away and both have good clusters. Thanks again,
    Fred
