From the factory it is either 2.79:1 or 3.00:1.

2.79 was used mostly in automatics and the 3.00 with mostly the manuals - as always with Ford, not all the time, but mostly .............. :thumbs2:

For you early 69.5 car guys, there were a couple other ratio's too.

If you go back earlier years...automatics got the 3.00 and the manuals got a 3.25. I think it was '65 when Ford started the 3.00 for a manual and 2.79 for automatics on their smaller cars. The C4 didn't need that much gear compared to the 2-speed Fordomatic

"Grabbers" had nothing do to with it. Keep in mind, a Grabber is just a plain old everyday Maverick with a stripe package and a few other doo-dads....and that is it.

My shop manual shows 3.08 and 2.83 for those early 7 1/4" pumpkins.
