Can't see any reason it wouldn't work, if mine wasn't already converted I would give this serious thought.

Great conversion but I wouldnt feel confortable riding on home made welded brakets.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
I would, If I welded them. I could have sworn someone did this on a maverick, but I was wrong they just upgraded the calipers.

i personally wouldnt use grade 8 bolts id go for 12s or cat bolts. just my personal preference. anyway that i could keep my rims theyre 14s the id is 13, depth is 3 1/2.
i really like the rims i have and the guy that i bought it from told me that theyre rare (which im not too sure about) that and i dont want to spend even more money

i read through the comments you dont actually have to weld on the dog leg brace as he calls it. his engineer buddy said 2 bolts would be sufficient. i would put the extra bracket on it anyway for piece of mind. but other than that that was the only welding involved. he welded on the spacers but you dont have to the bolts will hold the spacers in place i imagine it would just make putting the brackets on easier.

Grade 8 is all the factory used, I wouldn't think twice about it myself.

The inner bearing (and that part of the spindle) is larger on the Granada than on the Maverick. I would take my old bearing and one for the Granada to a bearing house and see if they have a bearing with the small inside diameter and the larger outside diameter. Then you just have to buy two new bearings instead of new spindles.
It may or may not be available but it is worth trying.

I have disc brakes with drum spindles. But mine are 2005-10 Mustang GT discs, all the way around. No welding and the lower brake brackets are continuous around the spindle.

The design is not my original, saw it here: http://www.mustangsteve.com/cobrabrakes.html

The mustang steve parts really work. I put 2008 GT mustang brakes on a Maverick spindle. Fits like a glove. The rear kits for Cobra brake conversion works on 8 and 9 inch rear ends also. Have to use 17 inch wheels.

I'm running welded brackets and grade 8 bolts, no problem. I'm also running drum brake hubs on a Granada disc brake spindle, I thought they were interchangeable but I may be wrong. I did my conversion 3 yrs ago and only documented rotor sizes... oops.
