distributer swap small 6 .....

    will a elec. ign. distributer from a 300-6 fit the small inline 73 6 cyl.?
    if not, wot to do cuz i hates points! :D

    runs fine but it just ain got no umph, so i decided to add elec. ign. and ill rework the stock carb . or make a manifod for 2 webber side drafts...and split header, i had this rig up on a 64 ford falcon and it'd pop wheelies heh heh!it was a big 6 tho

    y not just get a pertronix kit, real cheap and easy to install. putting a new distributor in isn't the funnest thing in the world . . .

    First - the small six does not develope enough torque to take the wheels off the ground in a 3000 pound car. The mods you mention are not going to give much in return without the addition of some real compression, bigger cam, and larger valves and ports.

    ...or you could get electronic ignition from a newer six.

    was hopin the 300 would fit, i got one layin round, i got the dwell and gap set and it starts good and runs but after you rev it ,it wont stay running.

    nope, the 240/300 dizzy wont work. find a '75-up 200/250 unit and swap them out

    What is a canadian hood? Are you talking about a 71-'72 Grabber hood?
