302 engine completeits a 92 or 93 he told me its out of a truck e 303 cam its not in the engine its efi so he is giveing me the wire harness thr out side one fuel pump a alternator and a electric fan and a fly wheel and some more things he finds and all he wants is 350$ what do you guys think and i was looking at this one to http://chattanooga.craigslist.org/pts/3323570189.html
For the Craigslist engine, any '87 up 351 except for Lightning is going to have the E7 heads, same as '87 up HO 5.0...Yeah I know it's 5.0 but the point is the heads aren't likely a big deal... If the heads were the GT-40 like used on the Lightning then yeah it's desirable feature... Have you verified the truck engine has a roller cam? It's possibly a roller block with a flat tappet cam, which would mean it needs lifters, retainers & spider to use the E303... That cam will need to be used with mass air or carb, it won't be very happy on a speed densety system...
i was goign to keep the efi but i havea intake and carb i can put on there till i get all the info and parts for the efi set up
If the engine is together, casting number and date code can be checked E6xxx, F1xxx etc are at least roller ready, thought may not be machined to accept the hold down spider... Otherwise the push rod length can be checked, 6.27" is what roller lifters use, the ones for flat tappet are 6.80" or slightly more than ½" longer...

The 5.0 got a roller cam for the redesigned '92 models, 5.8 got roller for the '94 model year(Lightning excepted, all were flat tappet)...
