will someone please help me out and look up the part # and tell me what it is (DoDa1130a) the # is stamped on the back of maverick dog dish hub caps i bought. Now here's my problem. i bought these dog dish hub caps and they are not as big around as the ones i took off my 72 mav. but they look the same.
they're probably for the early 13" wheels on 6cyl cars,they look like the later ones but are smaller in diameter.
when you say earlier cars what do you mean? some other car other than a maverick? did they use the 13 in wheel in 1970 and 71 on the maverick?
not sure about 71,but the standard wheels on a 70 mav were 13".I don't know what your hubcaps look like,but I just meant earlier mavs.
Although all the 70 brochures claim that 13" is the standard tire, I have never actually seen one on a Maverick. Has anybody? I have junked a couple of 70s and 1- 69.5. I have another 69.5 in my garage and all of them had 14" wheels. Even the spares were 14". All were non modified and I find it hard to believe some one would take a stock econobox and convert it over to 14" wheels. So I'm wondering if they really ever were 13". Just a thought.
A friend of mine has a '70 at his shop and it had 13's on it. I don't know if Jeff's has 13's or 14's.........I'll find out. Preston
well what i think im going to do , is sell them on ebay. i found some really nice nos ones at the ford show in columbus this past weekend and only paid 20.00 for them, they were in a box under a towel . the ones im going to sell (because they are for 13 in. wheels and i have 14's on my 72) will be on ebay. if you guys know anybody that might want them for a show car let me know. they are in prefect cond. and when i say perfect ,i mean perfect. never been on a car . they came out of cali. i bought them off ebay about 2 weeks ago.
