ok i need an in depth description of how to take off my door panels crank etc. i have recently aquired some dents that need to be hammerd out.
Get out your phillip's screwdriver. The window cranks are screwed in at the center of the knob. Older mavs have an adhesive chrome circle over the hole that needs to be removed to access the screw. The covers are frequently ruined on removal and replacements are not always around. Newer ones are plainly visible. Remove the armrests and handles also, just screws. You need to carefully pry the door panel away from the door at the mounting clips. The clips completely surround the panel on all sides several inches apart. While a large screwdriver works, I'd advise getting an upholstery removal tool. They aren't expensive and available anywhere. It is shaped like a screwdriver, but with a bend near the end and the tip is notched to surround the clip. Be careful prying the clips out because it is easy to tear the cardboard backing if you're not. The upholstery tool minimzes this risk. If you do tear the cardboard, the tears can be easily repaired with any numbers of glue. I like the hot glue guns, myself.
Those little chrome circles that cover the screw head are available from AutoKrafters. Also check this link to aid in removing the panel. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3150
