Hello everyone, Thought about posting this in Tech, But its drag tech! Anyone have some suggestions on a crossmember for my C6? I have some 69 Mustang big-block top-loader crossmembers Id like to use if possible. Like to use factory parts as much as possible.Car will be running a 460 also. Havent been under the car or started yet. Thought Id throw it out there. Also planning on Mustang 2 uppers and spindles, stock lowers with coil-overs! Yes, its been done before. Regards. Al
C-6 Mounts Here are some pictures of mine. I don't know who made the crossmember. It came with the car I recently bought. The car has a Rod and Custom Motorsports Mustang II conversion with a 460 and C-6. I am in the process of installing new leaf springs, subframe connectors, and a 3:50 trac loc rear. i hope the pictures are of some help.
you could always make brackets to bolt a crossmember on teh back side of the factory floor brace. That may work. It makes it easier if you have motor plates holding the engine in but if you want to use as many stock parts as possible, motor plates are probably out of the question. IMO, the weight of a 460 and C6 may be a bit much for "stock" motor mounts on a M2 crossmember and a stock-style trans crossmember. Especially in a drag application. Just my opinion...FWIW.
Thank for the replys Guys, FINALLY, decided to just make a pipe-rack out of the old girl. It probably would have ended up that way, since I cant leave nothing alone! LOL. Regards. Al
C6 mount. Try 67/70 Mustang C6 trans mount and crossmember. If you want to loose weight, pick up ,15 to ,25 et use JPT C4. If you have the correct convertor of the motor package th have a adapter so you dont have to change it.
