drive shaft ?

    I have a 71 maverick stock 302 3speed manual on the floor my question is If i switch to a c4 automatic tranny will i be able to use my same drive shaft :rolleyes:

    Yes. But you'd be better served by replacing the 3 speed with a Toploader 4 speed.

    Agreed...driveshaft will work.

    what is the length of the driveshaft when
    i use a toploader 4spd ??

    its amazing how dinky the stock driveshaft is...

    No different than the C4...bolts right in.

    i would put 4 or 5 speed in it

    when you put a auto trans in it it will need all of the other goodies witch will cost $$$ and does your radiator have the oil cooler ports for the auto trans??

    but you can get about 150 200 for the clutch pedal parts ??

    Fort Wayne Clutch & Drive is sellling new factory Mustang driveshafts on ebay for $140. Same length as the Mav/Comet shafts. I just bought one from em. Paid $165 total and had em check it for runout and balance ($130 + $35 for the extra) They had about ten for sale.

    yes they do seem small for a v/8 they got bigger in the later years ,,,

    took a truck drive line and had it cut down to fit way bigger
