took the mav to school to put exhaust on it. first the teacher wanted to work on my timing though. so we changed that a little then we retuned the carb. then i jacked the hoist up and mounted some hangers and bolted the exhaust up. when it was time to leave i started the beast up, poped it in gear and to my surprise it chirped the tires... then i gave it a litte gas a it chirpped them again. during the 3 block ride home (not even trying) it chirped the tires at every intersection. it was amazing.... the timing bit helped lots. man! my car is a beast!
Way to go nickriede. That extra response feels cool doesn't it? A little timing advance=good . A lot of timing advance=BAD . Its great that you are able to work on your car at school. I wish I had an opportunity like that in H.S.. What kind of exhaust did you put on? I hope it sound MEAN . Good Luck.
one of my dads friends went to a flowmaster exhaust on his 66 stang and i got his MIDAS special for free. with a litttle modification it went on alright. it deffenetly dont sound bad.. ne time i need more response from my loud pedal - i just uncork my headers, via flow tech exhaust cut outs. but ive got 2 strange problems, first i cant get it to shift into 3 gear. second it shakes quite a bit.... could just be the monster motor but im not sure.... oh yeah i havnt had it over 40mph yet.
