I'm about to start an EFI swap in my comet. I bought a wiring harness and computer from someone who said it was a MAF computer and harness but after looking into it I found out its an 87 speed density computer. What do I have to splice in/out to make it work on a MAF computer? Most of the connection look right, but are they wired to the same pins? I'm just trying to find out if I can salvage this or if I got ripped off completely, thank you very much.

you can salvage it. you can by a mass air conversion plug. it will have a length of wires with the correct pins to put into the computer connector. there is plenty of info on doing this on mustang sites. you will also need to add wires for the fuel pump check circuit, speed sensor and check engine light.

You will also have to have a computer that supports MAF in addition to the above. If you don't want to buy the kit, get a connector from salvage (any EEV 4 w/MAF) and lengthen the wires yourself. The MAF will need to match the computer (same application) to work correctly without additional tuning but most of the 4 wire connectors are the same 89-93. Mustang stuff is the easiest support wise.
