One month ago I had major back surgery (3 Disks) removed and replaced with 3 plastic disks and 6 large bolts to hold everything in place. Yesterday I felt my 75 Mav had been ignored long enough so I thought it was time to drive it. First when I got in, major pain to sit so low, next every bump in the road was pure misery. It is a shame because I have spent tons of money restoring the little beauty. My son gave me a Town Car after surgery and it's ride and drive are much better than my 09 Hyundia Sonata. After a while I will try the Mav again. I sure hope I can stand to drive her. I hate to think of adopting her to another home after her restoration. El Verde is a beautiful 4 door, I even put new shocks and oversized tires (195X14) on her to improve the ride. Texasjack
hopefully you will be able to drive it soon. Just do as doc says and you should be as good as new pretty soon
Dang, I was just about to PM you and see how the recovery was going. Hang in there and keep us posted! I'm still looking to get this done myself (before I retire)...
Jack, I don't know what kind of seats you have, but do know that the LDO seats are much softer, if that helps any.
seats will definately make a difference if you have a bench seat or other hard seat. The seat in my f-100 will kill your backif you stay in it any time
your back will recover and the nerves are gonna calm down. it's really important to put more muscle on your abs and on your back which will keep the the spine from shifting so much when you go over bumps and you'll have a lot less pain. get some really nice cushioned seats which will make a difference. the thicker the padding the better.
My Mav Hates My Back Thank y'all for the input. My mav has rebuilt factory bench seats. As I said my son gave me a Town Car and I have been driving it instead of my new Sonata. The Sonata rides good but the leather seat is thick leather and it pushes against the 6 bolts in my back. The TC has soft leather seats. Thank you Texasjack
