Hard to tell if its good from a pic.See how much of a ridge it has at the top of the bore.Measure the bore too and see if it is 4" in dia or larger. If larger...definitely been bored. If the ridge is thicker than your finger nail...its been around the block a few times.Look for cracks in the main webs and cyl bores.(Look closely with a bright light)
Sometimes you can spot em.Main bearing inserts look good from the pics.Pull a few out and look at the back side of em.They will be stamped with: STD...or .05....010 ETC, indicating the crank was turned(STD means no turning was done)Or they may be original and have no markings on em at all.Casting # on right side near pan rail will give you year of block. Fifty bucks for it is fair.

not much. I would try and find a complete engine to build so you would have all the bolts and such. I wouldn't go over $50 for that

Depends on how much it has been reworked. If it has been bored .040 over, it's probably worth nothing as it is done for. :)

That's a D8VE block. Jump on it. Sum-bitch has 10 -12 lbs more meat in it than all the others except for the Mex block. The tell tale is the crank position sensor boss at the rear main. Thick walls and thicker main webbing.

it says it has been reworked. I would find out what the cylinder bore is as mentioned above. And why is he selling it, you sure he didn't find a crack or something?

Those blocks can go 60 over on the bores. Look at the piston tops and see if they're been stamped with the overbore size. As for the rest, it all depends on what you want to do. If going stroker, then all you need is the block. The timing cover and chain set can be reused. As well as the flexplate, block spacer plate and carb. Toss the rockers, cam, lifters, heads (D8OE heads make dandy boat anchors, or door stops) and oil pump in the scrap pile. (always recycle)(y) The oil pickup tube looks like it's from an 80-97 pickup or van.
