I don't know a whole lot about cars yet, so my question is could I put this [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007CXB05M/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1360926799&sr=8-1&pi=SL75"]PROFormance DF10 Ford 302 Engine, Remanufactured:Amazon:Automotive[/ame] on my 74 Mav without having to change everything else or if you guys have any suggestion for a relatively cheap 302 I would gladly take them

:Welcome:to the board. Does your Maverick already have a 302 in it? If not, you will need a few items to install it, ie: motor mounts, v-8 belly bar, v-8 throttle cable, etc...

I can't see why not - your year car had a 302 as an optional engine and, as Coop mentioned, you can find everything that you will need to install it from a donor car if your have a 6 in it now. :)

If you already have a 302 it'd be fine but is a expensive route if you are converting a 6cyl car, the supporting components to use it will cost nearly as much as the engine... Even on a 302 car, you should replace the water & fuel pumps, rebuild the carb, plus probably need belts, hoses, gaskets, spark plugs, wires, etc(at least I wouldn't reuse anything that was more than a year old)...
