I have the 200 Falcon 6 in my 72 and understand it can be pretty under powered sometimes but I do love it. Yesterday it ran fine just before I decided to wash it off (including the engine bay). Today I started it and its ran just awful and along with running out of gas just hasn't acted the same. The idle is very harsh and unpredictable along with almost no power. Have you guys seen this before ? I have been thinking it must either be something in the carb or somehow the water caused some damage.
If it ran out of gas...You may have sucked some junk from the tank into the carb, and now have a plugged jet/passage somewhere in the carb. Or as dave said, water under the dist cap and or bad plug wires...
Thanks guys! I checked the distributor and it was dry :/ so it has to be something with the carb jets. Know any way to check the jets/clean them?
I still vote for moiature in the distributor cap. Sometimes it's hard to aee and it doesn't take much. How closely did you look? Maybe try blowing it out with compresses air or spraying some WD-40 in there an wipe it all out with paper towels.
