As I have never fitted the engine in my 71 Maverick can anyone tell me if I can fit with the transmission bolted to the block? Its a 4 speed Top loader with a hydraulic clutch set up.

I was hoping to bolt it all together and slide it all in in one go but just wanted to check this is possible.

Also can the headers be done the same way?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Phil

As far as I know, you can put the tranny on the engine and get it in, the headers you can not bolt on before you put the engine in but you can put them on when the engine is almost in (just a bit before it's on the mounts) by going from underneath with them and sliding them in place then you can bolt them on, at least this is how I did my blue Grabbers headers.

The 302 and C4 went together into mine by standing it on end.
