http://maverickman.com/VideoErickMavbestrun.mpg (best to probably right click and save to 56k beware!)

I really belive his car can even do better! Great Run Erick!

Any who I redem myself by smoking a honda... proving i'm not a rice rocket after all! My best speed trap @ 88.99 mph but for sure not my best time ever @ 7.79 But i'll take what i can get so that was the best for the night.

http://maverickman.com/VideoMavrickManbestrun.mpg (again best to right click and save to)

Still spinning tire.. all night was a problem for me! Gott get those Cal Tracks from not hitting the subframes.. this is for sure motivation to get this fixed! I Also was thinking maybe get rid of the 4:62s too much rev to fast... what you guys think from watching the video?

btw the car barely make it home with a stuck neddle and seat... kept dying at each stop signal

Only 4 runs but I had fun either way.. Lets do this again Erick! And Okibono when you comming ;) this way i can get smoked by Two mavericks!

That is great stuff...looked like alot of fun was had...Erick is steadily lowering his ET and Derrick is raising his(what's that theory of equal and opposite reaction):D .
Kinda hard to tell but it sounds like your short shifting Derrick...on my street car I know my cam starts to float at 6800 rpms so I shift at around 6500...wind that rubber band up:p
    Thx for the vid ya'll:drink:

    Thanks for the vids.

Without 60 foot numbers, it's hard to tell what needs to be looked at. The first 60 feet of a race track is where you win or lose. It appears Eric got a great jump on you and then you held your own (well, sorta).

The mph is a good indicator of hp. Me thinks you got out horse-powered too.

Either way, racing us fuuuuuuun fuuuuun fuuuuun! Thanks for sharing. (y)

Yeah, I had a great time racing with Maverick Man. I love that in-car video, I need to get me one of those. Thanks for doing video Maverick Man.

The new (used) 26x10 slicks helped a ton. I was really happy with my ET, surprised actually. Its gonna be a lot harder to beat that best time. Not much improvements left to do.

I pulled the engine today because I need to fix a small oil leak, re-do the brake lines and get new tranny lines. Also, I don't want to run the car anymore until I get a 9" rearend (only has the stock rearend now with an old carrier I got out of the junk yard from a Bobcat Wagon with 3.40 gears). Those Maverick 8" rearends sure are strong, but I don't think it will last. So after I get the 9" I'll be ready to do many many runs whenever and whenever I can. Let's do it again in March or April.

Erick-mav, Your time was already very impressive ,But now that I know you were running that kind of 1/8th mile times with " only " a 3.40 gear ...WOW!

I`d like to know what yours and Derricks 60` times were? (y)

Exactly! I'll take the "humble" cape off of Erick...That motor is built for 5-7500k...plain and simple.

Imagine that car w/ some 4.56's or some .88's. Oh, and Erick shifting her @ 7200. 10.50's, here we come.

Then he throws a little 150 shot on top of it, can you say 9's? I knew you could...

Erick and Derrick, keep it up. Ya'll keep me motivated.

I have been there b4 with a few other maverick guys more then a few times.. this is the first time with Erick. sound like he wants to go again before knotts! I'm down if i can fix my subframes. Your welcome to come e-mail me so i have your e-mail address.

lol! actually in the past when i had more time to test if i shifted at 6200 or 7000 it didn't matter.. but on a few passes i shiffted cuz the car was spinning too much. :(

60ft on that run in the video was 1.773 i launched it at 3k as you can see

but my best run in the car was 60ft 1.646 1/8th 7.610 mph 88.84

this is where the car ran 7.64 with at 1.650 60ft and at 88.09 mph. I also launched the car at 4k http://maverickman.com/movieMaverickrun.mpg i know you guys have seen it b4 but this might shed some light on the problem.

this time out each time i launched the car at 4k i would smoke the tires!

also this time around I droped about 100 lbs off the car and changed to cal tracs. i thought at least it would run the same or at least hoping for a high 7.50... but as you can see it didn't... i had the pressure down to 12lbs which was way better then the run i did with Erick at 14lbs.. but the car still off the line spins then grabs then i shift then it spins a bit more then grabs. anyhow i hoping its the cal tracs... see in this photo the trangle part is hitting the subframe

heres the orginal post on that.

    http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=1902&highlight=cal+trac

the other thought behind it is maybe i should change to a 4:11 gear... when i see Ericks 3:40s it makes me think... but then again Erick, you gotta at the least 100hp then i got... so maybe a 4:11 woundn't work.. whos know.

Erick i am down to do this again soon as soon as i get this problem fixed.

Derrick, I think once you get some traction you will be getting 7.50's or better. What rear springs do you have and what front shocks? What stall is your converter? When I watched you run from the stands it looked like you spun alot off the line and in 2nd. Also seemed like there wasn't much weight transfer, but your in-car video looks like OK transfer. I'm wondering if your lowered front end is hurting your traction. Fixing the Caltracs definitely should help.

BTW Derrick drove to the track...my car's a trailer queen.;) Heck, my gas tank is so small that I ran out of gas on the return road and Derrick had to push me.

Okibono, I hope your prediction comes true.:bouncy:

I predict Okibono's will go 8's when he finishes it.(y) His car is coming along and he's really putting it together right!
