I got an email asking if I know anything about these stripes. The sender saw these stripes on Mavericks and Mustangs at a Wisconsin Ford dealership in late 1969 or early 1970. Could this have been a regional promotion?

These pictures were taken in Western Iowa.

Probably something a dealer did on their own.

I have seen kits on ebay listed as "N.O.S." that feature this design. Still....I don;t think it was a factory kit that was installed by dealers. Most likely an aftermarket company.

My '71 also has a side stripe and it's not the only one I've seen.

If they were dealer installed, there must have been an AMC dealership across the street!

Anybody have the old pic of the Boss 302 (I think) concept Maverick from 1970? Seems like it had a similar type stripe.

Weird, that 416-845-2511 comes back as Ford Motor Company of Canada and another company name...I wonder where that car went....

Boss 302 forum says it has been found and is going to be restored. That's were I got that picture above.

I'd sure like to put the Boss I have in my car one day if mine turns out nice enough. The headers are a killer though. Like $600. I doubt I'll ever find an engineless Boss 302 in my price range. Dad gave $2500 for the rolled over 70 Boss 302 and stripped everthing still good off of it. The Magnums weren't even hurt.

To me, they all look like a copy of the 69 Camaro stripe.
