I've only heard of applications for vettes and some street rods, and a few chevys...if they are avalible for mavericks/mustangs what have you, its news to me. pros- lighter weight for suspension ....cons?- not as durable as spring steel, but thats going from the older ones that i know of, this may have been corrected on currant offerings,...another con is pricey compared to standard.

    check this out

Okay, so once again I find myself posting before researching my question at all.

These folks make the springs and it sounds like it would be a pretty good deal allthough a bit spendy.

    $400.00/pair

I don't think that's too unreasonable considering the weight reduction compared to stock springs.
Consider this Rick, how much did your hood cost?
How much weight did it save?
Aside from weight, did it net you any other performance gain?
If I were in a bit better financial position, a set of these would be on their way to my door right now.

    Courier,

Don't get me wrong. I want a set also.

That was just a blanket statement for performance parts - "ALL IT TAKES IS MONEY!" :D

I am going to look into getting a pair after I make a few passes on my modified stock springs. They are now single leaf - other leafs shortened. Plus, I might have to do a little 'touch up grinding' for slicks to fit.

By there very nature a mono leaf spring is better then a multi leaf spring. A multi leaf spring will seperate under hard acceleration causing the body to lift. I have been told that the fiberglass springs are perfectly fine for street applications as well as race applications. I have also been told that fiberglass reacts to changes faster then steel, not to mention the weight benefits. I have yet to try them at the track but am sure they will work ALOT better then ANY steel spring!! I will keep everyone posted!

Digging this old thread up again.

Stephen, can you give us your opinion now that you've had time to compare the two?

Did you only make the spring change (to verify that the Mono Leaf was soley responsible for any improvements)?

Ray, did you get the Mono Leaf Springs?

Anyone else have any comments on theirs (of those who have them).

I'm getting closer to doing a 4-wheel alignment done soon and am considering going to these - again.

    Thanks,

    Rick

Holy old threads Batman! Never did get them Rick.
Good question though. I don't remember seeing any before and after impressions Stephen. Throw us a bone?

Also look under the 88-95ish Rangers, they have a fiberglass" monoleaf" spring. If you were to take one off the axle and lay it "flat" on the ground, it gets narrower at the spring perch and then widens back out on its way to the shackles/torque box area. I have seen these with my own two eyes. They do exist. And they are not $400 a pair at the boneyard.
