I have been searching ebay for quite awhile (2 years) now looking for a set of these rims to come up for sale at a reasonalbe price. I knew I would never be able to afford originals and the reproductions ones where beginning to seem the same to be the same way for me. In the past two years I had only come across one set which where way out of my price range. Then just by chance last week I decided to type in Magstar instead of Kelsey Hayes Magstar rims or reproduction rims and these popped up as the only find from my search. They where listed as Paradise wheels, which is who reproduced these 20 years ago. The guy stated in his listing that they where only used to move his car arouned the garage till he got his 10 spoke wheels restored and that they where in perfect condition. The lug nuts come with them but no center caps. I looked at the price and decided I could not spend the money at this time it was just a little to much but I knew deep down in side I would never find a another set like these for the price he had listed as the opening bid. I said something to my wife about them and decided not to look again, that it would be too tempting to bid on them and let it go. The bid was to end 5:30 pm this past Saturday.
She came to me yesterday and asked if I ever looked to see what they sold for and I told her no. I could not stand to know if they sold for their listed price or what ever. She urged me to check any way. When I logged on to my ebay account it indicated that I had won the auction, which was strange since I was not bidding on anything. Wouldn't you know she went into my account and bid with 30 seconds left and got them for the opening bid. No else had bid on them at all. What a total suprise it was. I feel very lucky to have a woman like that!! She encourages my hobby with these old cars. Allows them to sit in the drive way and the garage and never complains about them. I was totally blown away.
I now have everything almost that I need for my car except a clutch set up, ARP bolts for final motor assembly, 1.6 rockers, gasket set and my Pete Jackson gear drive set up that I want. Then it will be time to start to work on it. Just in time for spring!!
These rims are 15 x 7 for the front and 15 x 8 for the rear. Let me know what you guys think. They are very similar to the magnum 500 but are a little more open in the center. I am going for the 67 shelby look. Ray (Razorsharp) did the 68 so I am doing the 67. I did not want to copy his.

    Thanks

Nice wheels. those should look real sharp on a Maverick.

I like those wheels very much :thumbs2: There has been a set for sale on craigslist here for $500.00 and are original and look like new I would like to have them but just too steep for my blood.

I just checked to see if they are still listed as they have been listed for awhile, gone at least for now

I have always thought that style of wheel looked really nice ,and they are different from what most people have.

Nice look. Just a bit different from 500's. Still a nice retro piece but a little modernized. I like it.

Thanks guys for all the compliments on the rims and wife! I think I will hang on to both for a long time!
The rims are going a a rust free 70 Maverick which will be painted a 07 Ford truck color called "Tri Color Sand" which is very close to the Wimbleton White by Ford but with gold and silver metallic in it. It will have the black and red 70 Grabber stripes on the hood and sides, factory green X tinted windows, 427 stroker with Crites headers and a Price dual 4 barrel set up, top loader 4 speed, black bucket seat interior with a custom floor console and a 67 Mustang Fastback overhead console, 67 shelby sequential tail lights and tail light panel, fiberglass hood with a 67 Shelby hood scope molded in and functional, Dixico hood tach and the Versales 9" reared end with a posi unit and of coarse these rims. I also have a set of the rear window louvers like Razorsharp has on his Shelby Maverick.
I just need to finish my sons Maverick up and get the few misc parts noted before and then it is time for mine to be pulled in the garage and start is tranformation. I think it will be a great looking car when it is done
I have been gathering parts for mine for years now and with the aid of my wonderful wife of 3 years now, my dream will finally become a reality. Thanks again for all the compliments.

    Thanks
    Allen Small
