Hey, I thought I'd let you all know that hopefully this weekend I'll finally put a fire to the ol' small block. It's destined for my comet of course. I'm gonna fire it on a stand to make sure everything is right beore it goes in the car. I buttoned up my temporary C-4 yesterday. Got to finnish putting together my Holley, and I located a set of hedmans. It's been a long time coming! Wish me luck.
Hey, good deal!! You're gonna love it!! And then you'll wonder how you EVER lived without it!! Congrats man, 'cause that's great!! Preston
"I still remember that rumblin' sound" when i clicked off my 302 with only headers on it the first time we thought the windows in the house would shatter, or the cops would roll up. neither happened, but it was VERY cool. remember to prime the oil system.
That reminds me of the time I fired up the old heap in my dad's garage, was taking it out to the street to put it on the trailer, had to go under the car port, I just "popped it" a little going through the car port and by the time I got to the front of the house my step mom was on the front porch yelling at me tellin' me I just raddled 6 pictures of her living room walls. Luv open headers, FAT cam and high compression
Reminds me of when my dad used to fire up the Comet, the windows in the living room would rattle and the floor would rumble. Gotta love it.
Thanks I'm glad you all are happy to hear it. All my friends are tired of me talking about it all the time. I'm a college student and my car is my only fun. I'm curious to see how it sounds. I've heard that the Motorsport roller cams sound ratty when they're carbureted instead of injected. Mine is the E303. .498 lift .282 duration. It definately won't hurt my feelings if I sound like a quarter miler. I just hope everything goes well. My motor is kind of an experiment, and I did most all of the assembly and alot of the machining myself. My favorite part is the Boss valve train (7/16 studs holding Boss 302 fulcrums & guide plates) on a roller cam. Hopefully it'll be budget power & durability.
