Once Again, Thanks Everyone For All Of Your Advice. My Next Question, Does Anyone Know Where To Get Grommets For The Firewall. The Grommets That I Need Are To Plug Holes That Are Approx 3/8 Inch Wide. Also, I Need Grommets For The Places In The Firewall Where The Heater Hoses Come Through To Hook Up To The Heater Core. Do They Make A Grommet For This? If Not, Is There A Way To Make It Look Decent? I Have Seen People Use Silicone Or That Putty Type Stuff To Plug Up Holes Or Put Around The Hoses As They Come Through The Firewall To Plug The Holes Tighter, But I Do Not Like These Ideas Very Much. I Have Tried All Of The Local Auto Parts Stores, But They Were No Help. Any Ideas? Thanks, Stuart

I used breather/PVC grommets as well, it took a little time to find the right ones, I used a cheap vernier caliper to check the hole size and just brought that into my local auto parts store and compared and measured the ones they had in stock. I pretty sure the factory used a putty like material, but the grommets look so much cleaner.

The factory used Grommets ... I had no luck finding them NOS .... and no other Ford vehicle used them that I could find.

What part # ... I recall them being Maverick specific parts and not crossing with a Mustang ...

Lowes/Home Depot carry rubber grommets for various sizes. They aren't
heavy duty like PCV grommets. I had to use RTV to hold some in place.

Craig ... buy them from NPD ... $10 cheaper than Perogie who is selling them on eBay ...

I cannot locate these grommets in the parts manual ... it is getting late and will try looking again tomorrow ..

The part number that NPD is using 18569 does not refer to a firewall grommet and Perogie does not list a part #

18A596 is a valid part # ... but it is the large round gasket that sits between the top of the heater core housing and the cowl vent opening ...

I found the Grommet Part # in my Body Assembly manual .... but it is a generic number just like Ford uses on all BOlts, screws, washers, plugs etc .... I'll post pics when I get home ...

Here is the documentation on the Grommet ... This indicates part # was 382745-S .... if there was a Ford part # for it this would be indicated here. Like I said above ... numbers like this are used for nuts, bolts, washers, clips, etc ... and grommets ... :)

Maybe someday I'll have the correct ones in my car ... but I don' t see myself pulling out the heater box and heater core anytime soon .... :)
