with a grabber spoiler and small bumper swap. big thanks to hotrod-daddy for the rear valance. it looked a hell of alot worse when i got it from him but the price was right. a few hits with a hammer later and it was presentable also a big thank you to fmc56, i was lookin for the small bumper 1/4 extensions but he was able to hook me up with a whole grabber spoler. it took a few hours to get it all on and right but well worth it.
the rear bumper didnt put up much of a fight on the way out. glad it didnt decite to do that while i was driving!!!
Looks Awesome!! I once bought a 74 Comet, and as soon as I got it home, I put my foot on the bumper, and it fell off.
thanks one thing that suprised me was how big the holes had to be for the spoiler. i always thought you just needed small screw holes. by the time i was done with the drill my dad though they were bullet holes. i guess they were about as big as a nickle. my only complaint now is that the trunk is to heavy to stay open on its own anymore. guess it'll need a prop rod too
just make sure the torsion bar is all the way up ( i think that's the point of highest tension.. if not try the bottom. )
i only have one of those bars on my mav . previous owner musta lost 'em. i know what you mean though. on the comet there so tight when you turn the key the lid almost wants to come up and smack me in the face. guess i'll just have to steal those.
My 69.5 only has 1 torsion bar attached to the passenger side trunk hinge. I just did that very same spoiler swap this weekend onto my stock trunk lid. The Grabber trunk lid that I got was too rusted for me to bother with. A 1 inch hole saw is what it took.
