Floorboard Insulation Material

    I just stripped out the carpet and tar paper from the floorboard and need some info:

    1) What is a good cleaner to remove the sticky residue from the floor so I can prime some spots

    2) What have you used for a replacement material for the tar like paper. I already have jute backing on the ACC carpet but need something about the same thickness to replace the other material.

    cleaner

    Mineral spirits or a wax and grease remover. The underlayment is available aftermarket, probably a mustang coupe kit with a few trimmings would do nicely.

    I used a Mustang kit ... with trimming ... it is not tar paper like original but more like heavy rubber mat ..
